Dignity Matters collects, purchases, and supplies feminine hygiene products, bras, and underwear to women and girls who are homeless or in other ways disadvantaged, in order to help them stay healthy, regain self-confidence, and live with dignity. $6,184 COVID Funding: Feminine hygiene products were in short supply in the early months of the pandemic. WFBoston’s critical and swift funding enabled Dignity Matters to purchase a three-month supply of menstrual care items that were delivered to the emergency centers at Boston Public Schools providing sanitary pads for 800 girls in Boston Public Schools. An additional $1,000 sponsored a bra event. The Simmons Leadership Conference, now in its 42nd year, has built a reputation as the premier leadership conference in the world. The event attracts over 4,000 middle- and senior-level women from companies and nonprofit organizations across the country and around the world. $2,500 provides scholarships for women to attend the university. $6,184 Sector: Other Education Target Population: Girls $2,500 each Sector: Other Education Target Population: Women Project Hope is a multi-service agency that moves Boston families up and out of poverty by providing women with children access to education, jobs, housing, and emergency services, fostering their personal transformation, and working for border systems change. Specifically, Project Hope provides workforce development and educational programming for low-income women in their Roxbury and North Dorchester community. $4,700 COVID Funding: WFBoston’s grant enabled the purchase of seven laptops as well as training for the staff to use them effectively.
