An affiliate of the national Girl Scouts organization, Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts, (GSCWM) aims to build courage, confidence, and character in girls who want to make the world a better place. Girl Scout experiences provide girls the opportunity to develop the attitudes, skills, and behaviors they need to succeed in life.
In 2023, WFBoston awarded a three-year $165,000 grant that will fund a Community Partnership Specialist to work in Western MA, where there is currently limited community-based Girl Scout programming.
In 2022, WFBoston awarded GSCWM a Catalyst Grant to fund new technology software to improve fundraising efficiency, donor engagement, and volunteer awareness.
In 2020, the Women’s Foundation of Boston awarded GSCWM a three-year grant for It’s a Girl’s World, a staff-led after-school program offering free STEM projects, financial literacy training, and healthy living classes to lower-income girls without access to traditional Girl Scout troop activities.
