Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts (GSEMA), an affiliate of the national Girl Scouts organization, builds courage, confidence, and character in girls who want to make the world a better place. Girl Scout experiences provide girls the opportunity to develop the attitudes, skills, and behaviors they need to succeed in life.
In 2024, GSEMA was awarded a Catalyst grant that will support STEM ON-THE-GO, a mobile learning center that will bring the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and math directly to Girl Scout troops and summer camps in underserved communities across Eastern MA.
In 2023, WFBoston awarded a $174,428 three-year grant that will support a Community Engagement Specialist who will provide direct support to caregivers, girls, and volunteers, in order to increase participation in Girl Scouts for girls from under-resourced communities.
In 2020, the Women’s Foundation of Boston provided one-year funding to GSEMA for Girl Scouts at Home, a virtual program where girls grades K-12 build essential life skills while exploring progressive, girl-led activities.
In 2020, WFBoston provided COVID Response Fund funding for enhanced virtual meeting spaces on Zoom, laptops, professional development for virtual programming, and software licensing.
