Girls on the Run Greater Boston

Girls on the Run Greater Boston (GOTRGB) is part of a national organization inspiring K-8 girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident through a research-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. 

Grants from the Women’s Foundation include:

  • 2025: Three-year grant expanding GOTRGB’s successful after-school program in more low-income school districts in Greater Boston and the Gateway Cities. 
  • 2024: Three-year grant increasing the number of girls served in low-income communities in Lawrence, Brockton, Boston, Revere, Salem, and Haverhill. 
  • 2023: Three-year grant funding growth in under-resourced, high-need communities including Lynn, Lowell, Brockton, and Boston.
  • 2022: Three-year grant expanding the In the City program to locations in Massachusetts Gateway Cities such as Lawrence, Lowell, Brockton, Everett, Lynn, and Chelsea.
  • 2020: Three-year grant funding Girls on the Run In the City, a new initiative to bring the GOTR program to underserved communities such as Dorchester, Mattapan, and Roxbury.
  • 2020: COVID response funding for Girl Kits for girls in low-income situations, and funding to support teachers who coached teams online.
  • 2018-2020: GOTRGB event sponsorships.
