Women’s Money Matters (formerly Budget Buddies) is a nonprofit serving women and girls over the age of 14 living on low-incomes. The organization builds financial wellness, confidence, and security through a unique group-based program that combines financial health workshops, peer support, and personal one-to-one coaching. It empowers women and girls to improve their financial health to create a more secure future for themselves, their families and their communities.
In 2024, WFBoston awarded a three-year $300,000 grant, which will fund WMM’s Life Launch program, helping girls and young women to build financial skills, economic security, and confidence through an impactful group-based program of workshops, peer support, and personal one-to-one coaching. This is WMM’s seventh grant with the Foundation.
In 2023, WFBoston awarded a three-year $300,000 grant that will support the hiring of a Community Engagement Coordinator to scale WMM’s existing financial wellness programs.
In 2022, WFBoston granted WMM three-year funding to support the creation and rollout of a series of in-depth workshops, where topics range from buying a home and retirement planning, to resume building and the job application process. The funding is also being used to develop and launch a community-building platform and app.
In 2020, WFBoston provided Covid funding to support the creation of Navigating Financial Uncertainty, an online platform that includes workshops, mentoring, and a hotline for clients.
In 2020, WFBoston also awarded WMM a three-year grant to support their Virtual Financial Empowerment for Women and Teen Girls expansion into Boston.
In 2019, WFBoston provided program support for WMM’s Teen Life pilot program.
